Your dog is as welcome as you are.

One dog welcome per room - at no extra charge. I designed Futurity with dog owners in mind, because I know what it means to travel with your dog and feel like an afterthought everywhere you go.

Meet Maddy

Maddy has been at my side for seventeen years, and she takes her role here seriously: testing the garden for optimal sunbathing, inspecting the rooms [if she's allowed!], and offering a dignified welcome to four-legged guests. Every dog-friendly decision at Futurity has been Maddy-approved.

A small light-colored dog with a blue collar sitting on a green textured blanket on a dark gray couch inside a living room.
A black dog with curly fur playing in the water at the beach, splashing waves around it during sunset.
Two dogs running on a sandy beach near the water with waves in the background, one dog in mid-air and the other close to the ground.
A fluffy white dog with a big open-mouthed smile walking on the sandy beach with ocean waves and a partly cloudy sky in the background.
A golden retriever dog with wet fur sitting on the sandy beach near the ocean, with waves in the background under a clear blue sky.

Dog-Friendly New Quay

New Quay is wonderful with a dog. Dolau Beach — the small sandy cove beside the harbour — welcomes dogs all year round, and the expansive Traeth Gwyn gives you a long stretch of sand to wander together. The main Harbour Beach has just one seasonal rule: dogs aren't allowed on the section between the pier and Penpolion from 1 May to 30 September — but outside those months, it's all theirs.

For a proper adventure, the Wales Coast Path runs straight through the village — New Quay actually marks its halfway point — with clifftop walks in both directions. And some of Cardigan Bay's loveliest year-round dog beaches are a short drive away: Cwmtydu, Penbryn and Mwnt all welcome dogs in every season, whatever the month.

Back in the village, plenty of pubs and cafés are happy to see a well-behaved dog. I have put together a personal guide for every room — restaurants, hidden gems, and the places I'd actually send a friend. You'll find it waiting for you when you arrive.

And when the day's done, Futurity's garden and your own parking space are waiting at the top of the hill.

Beach restrictions are set by Ceredigion County Council and may change — I endeavour to keep this page up to date, but do check signs on the day.

The Ceredigion Heritage Coast is exceptional walking territory - dramatic clifftops, quiet coves, and long stretches of beach. Most are dog-friendly year-round, or at least in off-peak months.

The best dog walks from Futurity

Our dog-friendly policy

Straightforward and guest-friendly - here’s everything you need to know before you book.

One dog per room

One dog is welcome in every room at Futurity, at no additional charge. No sneaky pet fees, no awkward conversations at check-in.

Maddy’s Room

This room has direct garden access-making it the most practical for guests travelling with a dog.

Dogs in bedrooms

Your dog can sleep in the room with you. Every room comes with a dedicated dog bed, dog towel provided, plus a bag of treats.

Dogs not left unattended

If you’re heading out for a meal or activity, please make arrangements for your dog or let me know and I’ll do my best to help.

Enclosed guest garden

Futurity has a fully enclosed private garden - perfect for an early morning stretch, and evening wind-down, or just letting the dog have a good sniff round.

Leads in communal areas

I ask that dogs are kept on leads in all communal areas of the property - for the comfort of all guests and any other dogs staying at the time.

What to bring for your dog.

I provide the garden and a warm welcome - here’s what I’d recommend packing for a smooth stay.

Their favourite toys or comforts
Food & water bowls

Extra poop bags for out & about
Any regular medication
Towel for beach & muddy days

A note from Jane & Maddy

I genuinely love having dogs to stay. If you have any questions about whether your dog will be comfortable - their size, needs, or anything specific - just drop me a message before you book. I’d rather have a quick conversation and make sure it works perfectly than have anyone feel unsure. I’m happy to help.

Bring the dog. Book your stay.
